The Harrisons

The Harrisons are a local Bristol band featuring our very own Steve Treble.

Steve Treble, Metal god

The band formed around six years ago and has been gigging erratically ever since. Having members of such calibre, these musicians are constantly being poached by other bands for tours, sessions and plumbing. The line-up (when everyone is available) is;

Drums and Vocals; the best drummer north of the Feeder, from Milford Haven, Eddie John. Recently Eddie has been busy with a UK theatre tour of the renowned Blues Brother, Soul Sister hit musical (the Guardian)

Bass and Vocals. A true veteran of the 4 string, having gigged regularly in Hamburg in the 60s. Together with Eddie they provide provide a solid swinging rhythm section. You'll never see him up the 'dusty end'. From Newport, Gwent, Lyndon Parry. Keyboards and definetly no vocals; another Bristol stalwart who's played with everybody. He swings, boogies and vamps. From Denmark, Peter Winfeld. Guitars and Vocals; the third Welshman in the band. Chugging rhythms, searing Lowell George obsessed slide and knee trembling baritone guitar. Having served his time as backing vocals and lead guitar in several renowned country rock bands, reluctantly takes the main vocal position to knicker throwing bedlam. From Llanelli, Al Thomas. Trombone and Vocals. The best and most demanded trombone player in town, if there is such a thing. Currently heading for a first class degree in sums in Exeter University. A huge hairy horn player, from Bristol, John Cornick. Guitars and Vocals. Infamous on the Bristol circuit for his unique guitar style. Rather than playing the guitar, he subjects the instrument to a course of physiotherapy. Tattoed across his very wide back are the immortal words; 'talent is no substitute for gain'. Every solo is a masterpiece of tone, a symphony in pinched harmonics. From Clevedon, the one and only (thank God!), Steve Treble.

Together they play and eclectic blend of originals and covers of Country, RnB, Soul and loungy instrumentals. Always with tongue firmly in cheek, with an emphasis on swing and stomp. their soaring harmonies are a delight and the soloing inconsistant, but normally quite good.

They can be reached on 0117 9742675, ask for Steve, tell whoever answers the phone that you owe him some money and you need to know how much.
